Second-place finish in Johnny Mulligan Classic at Ponderosa

Friday night found Dustin Linville in action at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) for the Valvoline Iron-Man Northern Series-sanctioned Johnny Mulligan Classic. With time trial results setting the grid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Linville recorded the third fastest time overall. Improving one spot in the 50-lap affair, Dustin notched a runner-up finish, which came behind polesitter Michael Chilton. Zack Dohm, Justin Rattliff, and Josh Rice completed the Top-5 finishers. Returning to action on Sunday, Dustin stopped at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Ky.) to make his debut with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals. After getting behind the eight-ball in time trials, Linville locked his spot into the main event with a third-place finish in his heat. With $5,000 on the line, Dustin clawed forward two spots in the 40-lapper to finish seventh.
